For years, Lauretta has been blissfully happy in the role of mother and spouse in her painfully neat white-and-beige dream house. Then one Thursday morning her husband does something that seems inconsequential at the time, but which gets Retta thinking. All certainties seem to crumble. She starts to do things that she’s never considered before. A road trip to Cape Town leads to unexpected discoveries, not only about herself but also about Tobias, her husband of twenty-six years.
