Be brave. Be bold. Be free. Set in Iran in 2009, where dance is illegal, this is the story of Afshin Ghaffarian, who risked his life to fight for his dream to become a dancer. With YouTube as his teacher, Afshin starts an underground dance group at university with his friends. As their skills increase, Afshin and his group are determined to put on a secret performance—far out in the desert.
On their return, Afshin and his friends join the millions on the streets protesting and marching for freedom. Captured by the militia, Afshin is taken back to the desert to be executed. He manages to escape, but, finding himself a marked man, he flees to France. In Paris, he is granted asylum and awarded free entry to Paris’ most prestigious dance school.
An inspiring true story about young people risking it all to fight for the most basic of human rights and live their dreams.
