Award-winning Ozpetek is the director of Festival favourites Turkish Bath (1998) and Saturn Returns (2008) and the popular Ignorant Fairies, and his latest film is equally stylish and sophisticated. And funny.
Tomasso, who’s been avoiding family responsibilities, returns home to Lecce for the celebration that seals the deal that guarantees the future of the family pasta business, run by his brother Antonio. Tomasso plans to announce that he’s gay, a move certain to cause such an upset in his conservative family that he can continue his career as a writer, in Rome. But nothing runs smoothly in a family of loose cannons – a philandering father, an alky aunt, a grumpy grandmother and a brother who has his own secrets to reveal. Adding fuel to the fire is his attraction to the gorgeous woman whose fortune will rescue the family business, but who will rescue him? Enter his lover and friends … Certain to be a Festival favourite!
