Atonement

A British romance, this film's story spans over several decades, starting out in 1935 where privileged 13 year old Briony (Saoirse Ronan) observes a flirtation between a servant?s son, Robbie (James McAvoy) and her older sister, Cecilia (Keira Knightley), that she childishly misinterprets, and when she accuses him of a crime he did not commit, it changes the course of three lives forever.<br /><br />Now decades later, Briony continues to seek forgiveness for her childhood misdemeanour, where through an act of imagination, manages to find the path to her uncertain atonement, and an understanding of the power of lasting love.
