CINEMA MANAGER

WOODLANDS

 

A vacancy exists for a Cinema Manager reporting to the General Manager: Nu Metro Cinemas at Woodlands Mall in Pretoria, Gauteng.

 

Purpose of the Job:  Lead and manage at both operational and strategic level. Coordinate all the activities and processes with full management responsibility for the cinema complex within the constraints of company policies, processes and procedures.

 

Outputs for the Job:

  • Plan, forecast, report on sales, costs and business performance, according to company requirements.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the operations of the Cinema
  • Manage the Cinema to achieve set financial targets
  • Review and analyze expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits
  • Manage costs and overheads, and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the cinema.
    • Maximize profit and minimize loss
    • Develop the business to meet the site objectives and targets.
    • Plan and implement layout and customer traffic flow so as to maximise sales, customer satisfaction, appearance, and image
    • Manage selling and customer service activities and staff competence in these areas, so as to optimise and sustain sales performance, profitability and customer satisfaction.
    • Develop the team to deliver exceptional standards of customer service at all times. 
      • Direct investigations into causes of customer complaints
      • Deal with customer complaints promptly and efficiently
      • Manage upkeep and condition of all equipment, fixtures and fabric of shop premises.
      • Supervise maintenance of the cinema
      • Manage health and safety, security, and emergency systems, capabilities and staff and customer awareness, according to company policy and relevant law.
        • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to
        • Manage and motivate staff, recruit staff, train and develop staff, according to company policies and employment laws, and ensure relevant HR procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc).
        • Conduct performance appraisal/review for staff members under your supervision
        • Effectively appraise and manage team performance, in line with company policy and procedures, ensuring that business objectives and targets are achieved within appropriate timelines
        • Manage the execution of all events at the Cinema
          • Develop and improve market share through local marketing in partnership with the marketing department, by supervision and implementation of advertising and marketing activities within the Cinema
          • Identify, maximize and drive sales opportunities from ticket sales and F&B promotions

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least Grade 12 with 6 years’ related management experience 
    • A relevant degree with more than 6 years related management experience would be advantageous 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage and lead a diverse workforce 
    • Advanced numeric skills
    • Customer and detail-orientated
    • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends and public holidays
    • Ability to make sound spur-of-the-moment business decisions and accept constructive criticism
    • Proficiency in computer skills
    • Unendorsed code 08 drivers licence
